How To Play Hockey

Everyone has a different version of How to Play Hockey but basically Ice hockey is played between two teams, each team made up of eighteen skaters and two goaltenders. Each team has 6 players on the ice at once comprising of a goaltender, 2 defenseman and three forwards made up of one center man and a left winger and right winger. The game of Ice hockey is played over three periods with each period consisting of twenty minutes making up 60 minutes to complete a game of hockey. The time on the score clock stops with every blow of the referee whistle. In the National Hockey League, which is the professional sports league, there is two referees and two linemen that officiate each hockey game. Most every other league just uses one referee instead of two like in the NHL. The object of the game of hockey is to have possession of the puck and stick handle towards the offending teams net and shoot the puck into a net opener that is four feet by eight feet which is protected by the other teams goaltender. The game of hockey is very popular here in Canada as this is the home of hockey here in Windsor Nova Scotia on the eastern coast of Canada.
